Temperature-Controlled Shipment Guide

Effective: August 14, 2026  •  Audience: Shippers, customers and brokers  •  Owner: JASKO Enterprises, Inc.

Information customers should provide for refrigerated and protected-temperature freight.

Before pickup

Provide the commodity, required set point, operating mode, acceptable temperature range, pre-cooling requirement, packaging details, weight, pallet count, pickup window and delivery appointment in writing.

Identify any special handling, sanitation, seal, washout, pulp-temperature or continuous-run requirement before dispatch.

At pickup

The shipper is responsible for preparing, packaging and loading cargo suitable for transportation unless a written agreement states otherwise.

Temperature-sensitive product should be at the required transport temperature before loading; a refrigerated trailer is designed primarily to maintain temperature, not rapidly change product temperature.

Shipping documents should accurately state instructions and any exceptions.

In transit and delivery

JASKO monitors equipped trailers and communicates material exceptions. Drivers follow lawful instructions and may stop when a condition presents a safety, equipment or compliance concern.

Seal changes, rejected product, temperature concerns or consignee instructions should be documented and reported before leaving the facility whenever practicable.

Written agreement controls

Rates, liability, service requirements and claims are governed by the applicable written agreement, rate confirmation, bill of lading and law.

Important: This public guidance does not amend any transportation agreement, tariff, rate confirmation, lease, employment policy or legal requirement. Contact JASKO for the controlled document applicable to a specific transaction or relationship.
